About Us
Having lived and worked in different European cultures over the years we understand and appreciate while we are all basically the same, there are still some important differences between our European cultures. These are essential to know if you wish to succeed in these countries in business.

As what can be seen as unimportant to us can be seen as very important to different cultures.
For example, one client a couple of years ago tried to penetrate the German market and unfortunately without the linguistic and cultural skills could not get the meetings and business they sought after.
BDC Moore Ltd was brought on board by them and at this point everything changed in to a more positive direction for them. The right contacts were made in their target markets and meetings were arranged with BDC Moore Ltd providing ongoing cultural and linguistic support. And thanks to BDC Moore Ltd their business prospects are hugely improved.
Now with Brexit looming on the horizon it is more important than ever to build good relationship with prospective international clients in good time.
It is also very important that the partner you chose to help you break into European business as well as having linguistic and cultural understanding, they also have a good technical understanding of your products, processes or services.
With engineering background of more than 20 years BDC Moore Ltd is in the ideal position to help you get to where you want to be with our experience, knowledge and support.
If you find that you are struggling to get to the right people with your own efforts, why not consider using us, to take the pain away, leaving you to get on with what you are doing best.

Sectors Handled
Aerospace
The Aerospace sector is a very important industrial sector not just for the civil sector but even more so for the military sector. All technical processes and regulations are very stringently controlled by Quality Management (QC/QA) and undergo regular updates and amendments and must be strictly adhered to.
It is therefore very important to understand how processes of companies in different supply tiers operate. When exporting products there are usually additional requirements from each country, which must be met. BDC Moore understands those imperative requirements and has been able to support various clients bridging the cultural and language differences in order to ensure that their clients do not lose these important contracts and to remain at the highest competitive level.
Defence
The Defence sector consisting of military aerospace, land vehicles, navy ships and carriers, missiles and intelligence services and security. It goes without saying how important security is in every single aspect but also to understand documents such as technical manuals to be able to translate them into the target language without any important details being lost or misinterpreted?
We all know that military vehicles are predominantly green but did you know that there are many different shades of green being used for army vehicles of different countries?
Having worked in the defence industry BDC Moore understands l the importance of clarity and detail in translating as well as keeping sensitive information safe.
Oil and Gas
The Oil and Gas industry has been booming for decades although it showed regular peaks and troughs over many decades. This sector includes all necessary machinery to extract the oil and gas on and off shore. This includes equipment like turbines, generators and compressors etc. which can sometimes be found assembled on a skid and can be immediately integrated into the required process. We all know the roller bearings used on bicycles and the automotive industry, however the gas turbines for examples require fluid film bearings. In order for the turbines to be able to operate with a high reliability the fluid film bearings play a very important role and for that the manufacturer needs to run calculations based on the speed of the shaft, the load, the temperature etc. in order to calculate the right amount of oil and the oil film thickness. The operator must understand these requirements and check on the data the gas turbines provides constantly. Any significant changes will result in the gas turbine failing in operation. Thanks to our experience in the Oil and Gas sector BDC Moore can provide you with the required technical sales support, especially for the export markets.
Nuclear
The Nuclear sector is important for the production of energy but not in every country. It plays an important part in the UK and also in France, whereas Germany’s government has “a timeline for taking the rest of the nuclear plants offline by 2022”(Rebecca Staudenmaier). Because of the nature of this industry safety and quality are at a very high level and this counts not only for when building and operating the nuclear plant but also when decommissioning it. Having worked closely with companies in the Nuclear Power industry we understand the requirements perfectly and therefore can provide the right support.
Industrial
Here at BDC Moore we have extensive knowledge about different types of valves, couplers, manholes and hose assemblies all used for a wide range of industries like food, chemicals, fuel and oil, bitumen and water, just to name a few. Every different medium (product) being transported or pumped from A to B has different requirements regarding the material of the valve, couplers etc. and very importantly the type of seals, O-rings. It is important to understand the compatibility of the material used with the medium as well as the environment in which it is being used. For example, salty sea air can have a devastating impact on standard 316L Stainless Steel. Why? Because it causes the steel to rust and therefore requires a different grade of steel for that application. Another important aspect to consider is pressure (positive and negative) in the vessel or hose assembly. BDC Moore understands the importance of the above and also the differentiation between metric and imperial measurements, may it be pressure, temperature or dimensions, as our clients will vouch for.
Automation
More and more manufacturing plants automate some or even most of their processes. Those machines require regular maintenance and communication with either the clients or suppliers – depending which side your business is at. Those clients and/or suppliers are usually around the globe and require cultural and language support to make sure there is no additional down time, which can become costly. BDC Moore is proud to say that we have recently been able to support a few clients in this industry. We are also working closely with experts who provide the support to implement the process in businesses who are new to it or have grown to the next level.
Food Processing
Food processing industry is a big market in Germany. Having extensive knowledge of the German industry and culture as well as language it was a pleasure for BDC Moore to support a few German companies and well as UK companies. The food processing industry requires an impressive array of processes and machines, allowing a smooth journey from the ingredients to the final product. The slightest change at any point of the process can have a domino effect on the whole manufacturing process with possible severe consequences. Whilst BDC Moore is bridging any gaps between suppliers and customers, our partner ensures that the required process is in place and being monitored in order to act if or when necessary.
Renewables
This industry sector is growing rapidly worldwide. For example Germany is a big market as it plans to take all their “nuclear plants offline by 2022”(Rebecca Staudenmaier). BDC Moore has collaborated with business to increase their brand outside the UK thanks to market studies and introduction to potential clients.
Retail
The retail world has and is still changing a lot. We are all just too familiar with shop closures over the recent years. Nonetheless there are still many high-street shops and an increase in online selling too. It is imperative to conduct a thorough market research before launching any new products and understanding the market, especially when selling abroad. Sometimes names or designs need a little tweak in other countries avoiding any confusion. Another important point is to understand the timeframe when retail outlets or online shops are purchasing their goods and not to miss those deadlines. It is a challenging but very rewarding sector and may require constant change by the clients and future clients. BDC Moore has worked very closely with a couple of clients in the retail sector and therefore understand how to provide the right support.
Agriculture
With a background in agriculture BDC Moore is very pleased to have supported a couple of clients recently in this sector. This sector is one that stands apart. It requires in-depth knowledge and experience. Although the processes remain mainly the same throughout the world, there are differences due to different climates, soil conditions and regulations. When considering venturing into new markets abroad it is very important to find out what the regulations are in that country and what it takes to be compliant, which will have an impact on the pricing structure. English is not as widely spoken in this sector, unless working with internationally known companies. BDC Moore has the right skills set and knowledge to bridge those gaps for companies who wan to take their business to the next level.
